Our History
Older Adults Care Management began in 1982 as one of the nation's first geriatric care management organizations.
Founder Rose Kleiner, a social worker and the wife of pioneering Silicon Valley venture capitalist Eugene Kleiner, started the company to help older adults like her own mother, who wanted to remain living at home throughout her life, even when unable to manage fully on her own.
Mrs. Kleiner knew that navigating the variety of unrelated public and private resources, programs and services for seniors was a full time job, and that families would not be able to do it all. She founded Older Adults Care Management to act as a reliable partner to work with families in order to ensure that the needs of their older loved ones would be met.
Rose's pioneering concept linked hundreds of professionals to individuals in need of care planning, resource referral, and supervision. Wanting to be the very best, Rose soon added her own team of compassionate, attentive and capable caregivers. This incredible team has grown and flourished over the years, spurred by exceptional training and support.
More recently, Personal Assistant services were added to the company's roster of home care and care management services, offering help with bill paying, banking, correspondence, and other transactions, as well as escort to appointments and events throughout the community. This has taken Rose's concept of comprehensive, reliable partnership to the next level.
OACM + Institute On Aging
Run for years by its founder, Older Adults Care Management was gifted in 1999 to the Bay Area's leading non-profit elder care organization, Institute on Aging. With their gift, the Kleiners ensured that Rose's pioneering legacy would extend well into the future.
