Personal Assistant Services

Help With Bookkeeping, Administrative & Personal Needs

Elders who are in good physical health can often remain at home as long as they wish. However, over time certain household and personal needs may become too difficult to manage on one's own. Staying on top of bill paying, good nutrition, and personal care are crucial to maintaining a healthy and enjoyable living environment. OACM's professional personal and household services enable elders to continue the life they wish to live, even as they are faced with limitations.

Personal Bookkeeping Services

Keeping up with bill paying and financial paperwork is one of the most difficult and necessary household needs faced by an elder. Reading small print may be difficult, and understanding medical billing paperwork easily becomes confusing. Yet missing a payment or paying the wrong vendor may make a significant difference in an elder's monthly available resources. OACM's personal bookkeeping services, provided by bonded, experienced financial assistants, offer day-to-day help with ongoing financial affairs.

Tailored to a client’s needs, bookkeeping services may include:

  • Bill paying
  • Checkbook balancing
  • Bank statement reconciliation
  • Organizing personal papers and end-of-year tax information (we don’t prepare taxes)
  • Managing cash used for daily purchases and transactions (designated legal authority may be required)

Personal Care & Support Services

OACM's personal care and support services can help an elder remain engaged with family, friends, community and social activities. Typical services range from assistance with light housecleaning to shopping and meal preparation to travel and event planning. Often provided in conjunction with Homecare or Care Management, the involvement of a personal assistant can be intermittent, short-term or long-term, depending on the level of service desired.

Tailored to a client’s needs, personal care and support services may include:

  • Companionship and shopping
  • Arranging personal services like haircutting or nail care
  • Assistance with personal affairs and correspondence
  • Coordinating and escorting travel
  • Household management (arranging plumbing, gardening, home maintenance and other services)
  • Arranging social engagements and appointments
  • Organizing parties, luncheons and dinners
  • Helping with other needs that may arise, such as moving
  • The involvement of Personal Assistant staff can be intermittent, short-term or long-term, depending on the level of service desired.
